Your brain is talking to you!
Repeated stress.
Working seven days a week.
Becoming angry over any little thing.
Shutting down.
Burnout is a clinical condition resulting from prolonged, relentless stress over a period of time.
It doesn’t happen in a week.
First, there are warning signs of being tired a lot. Not sleeping. Eating more – or less – than you had been.
Then comes the autopilot. Not many pleasurable moments. Becoming almost numb. Drinking more. Exhibiting anger everywhere.
And, finally, shutdown. Clinical depression. The brain goes into a state of ‘walking across a wide river of molasses.’ Hardly being able to function at all.
Prevention of burnout
I developed Logosoma Brain Training in 1985 to prevent burnout – a complex psycho-neuro-endocrine disorder.
Burnout is increasing throughout the population and affecting younger people, even teens.
Professional and executive careers face high expectations and need mindful stress-regulation skills to meet the demands.
The burnout prevention method is presented in my book, Phantom Stress: Brain Training to Master Relationship Stress.
Don’t stress yourself into burnout.
