COVID-19 NOTIFICATION

Due to the coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, all in-office sessions have been suspended indefinitely. Telemedicine sessions for new and continuing patients are availble via Kareo. To schedule a telemedicine appointment using Kareo, you must be an active patient with an activated Kareo account. For all new patients, please call (212) 477-9886.

What are your hours?

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 12:30 PM – 6:00 PM
Wednesday: Telemedicine by appointment 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Saturday: 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM

How long is a session?

Pharmacotherapy: 15-30 mn
Individual: 30-90 mn
Couple/Family: 60 – 90 mn

What are your fees?

Fees are discussed prior to first visit.

How can I set up an initial meeting?

What is your cancellation policy?

If cancellations come with more than 24 hours, there’s no charge for the cancelled appointment.

With less than 24 hours, there’s not much I can do to find someone who would like that hour. I will charge the full fee for our time.

With what age groups do you work?

I work with adolescents, adults, couples, and families.

What do you do in sessions?

Sessions focus on creating a doctor-patient alliance of trust, diagnosing and treating brain/mind stress, and developing emotional awareness with mindfulness techniques.

Teaching and coaching tools as presented in Phantom Stress: Brain Training to Master Relationship Stress empowers a healthy self and resilient partnerships.

What is your professional training?

Trained as an adult, child, and family psychiatrist, I was Assistant Professor of Psychiatry for 25 years at New York-Presbyterian Hospital-Cornell Medical College.

What is Logosoma Brain Training?

I developed Logosoma Brain Training (LBT) early in my career by integrating Mindfulness practices with Social Neuroscience to treat anxiety, depression, addiction, PTSD, OCD, relationship stress, and family dysfunction. I help people with issues in their identity, gender, career, and personal meaning.

What is your success rate?

I measure my success by patients referring their friends, family, and colleagues to the practice. My practice is largely built through these referrals.

What is different or special about your work?

My goals in helping people go beyond symptom resolution or remission from disorders. By approaching medicine as a teaching profession, I help my patients develop creative resilience to the adversities in life that produce breakdowns and illness. I train my patients, students, and clients in “the serious fun of being human” by empowering their inborn creativity.
